Bring the right ID
You need a valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older. A passport works for international visitors. An expired ID will not get you in.
Same limit as locals
Arizona uses one limit for everyone 21 and older: up to 1 ounce, with no more than 5 grams of concentrate. It does not matter where you live.
Shops near the sights
Pick the shop closest to where you are staying or what you are seeing. The Valley is spread out, so a short drive matters.

Hotels, resorts and rentals
Any person or business that owns or controls a property can ban cannabis there, and most hotels and resorts do. If you are booking a short-term rental, check the house rules before you arrive.
Where you can actually use it
Not on hiking trails, at parks, by the pool at a public resort or on the sidewalk. Smoking in public places and open spaces is not allowed. Use is for private property where the owner allows it.
Rental cars and rideshare
You cannot use cannabis while driving or riding as a passenger in a moving vehicle. Driving impaired is a DUI.
Before you fly home
Finish it or leave it. Cannabis is illegal under federal law, so do not pack it for a flight out of Sky Harbor or a drive across state lines. National parks and other federal land follow federal law too.
